… I sketched out the best ways to spend Halloween in Russia and the CIS:
1. Themed parties: in any major city there will probably be several clubs with a themed party in honor of October 31st, although they can take place earlier – on October 26th or 27th because the day, although a holiday, is not a day off, and people need to go to work/school/etc in the morning. In general, if you want, you can crash in a noisy party (or alone) and spend the evening/night there. But personally, I don’t particularly like such events. If you really want to show off in a suit, then it’s better to do it in a circle of like-minded people and at other times. In other words: you have a suit from Star Wars, you came to a gathering of Star Wars fans and everything like that, it will turn out much more soulful.
2. Single Halloween: lock yourself at home, wait until dark, turn off the lights, put on headphones and play or watch something that is VERY scary for you personally. Well then just to fall asleep to relax some kind of horror movie parody or something like that.

Get together with a group of 5-15 people, stock up on everything you need at the store, and barge into the house of someone who has a larger TV and more powerful sound. Then you watch your favorite horror movies, play something that’s scary and fun at the same time. Tell stories, play NOT video games, in general, you’ll definitely find something to keep yourself busy
4. Walk down the street alone or in a small group and scare passers-by. Do it at 7-11 pm, earlier – it’s light, later – the contingent is not the same… Although, knowing our mentality, I advise you to prepare – the option is the most dangerous to life and health of all)
5. Put more money into your virtual wallet and take advantage of Halloween sales to get a bunch of stuff. Just look at Steam and you’ll immediately see how much money you’ll leave there..
6. I was also thinking about writing: go to the cinema, but there’s not much to go to. Maybe Skyfall, but despite how cool it is IMHO, it’s not suitable for Halloween. Well, I don’t want to waste time or money on all sorts of Silent Hills.
This Halloween, in my opinion, the best thing to see is Cabin in the Woods. Brilliant, the best film of the year in my opinion and ideal for late-night viewing with a large group of friends. There you will have time to get scared and freak out, especially in the last 30 minutes or so. Well, you should play Amnesia: Dark Room. Those who are in the know, I’m sure, will understand. It’s especially fun to show this to friends.
In general, it’s sad that this holiday has not become as deeply integrated into our culture as we would like. In the USA and Europe, stores in September began mass selling all kinds of costumes, makeup, decorations, etc. as if they were preparing for Christmas.
